It’s Your Time to Live a Blissful, Magnetic Life

We’ve arrived at our final week of the Unpacking Pleasure Series! By now, you hopefully can see just how important it is to connect to our bodies and that pleasure is the reward we get for doing so.

The wisdom you will gain from the connection to your body helps you to see the beauty inside yourself.  This inner beauty could be tender, as you hug someone you love, or goofy as you roll down a hill with your child.  You find a sense of ease and belonging in your body more often.  It can be described as peaceful, empowering, vivacious, exuberant, animated, soft, expressive, energetic, magnetic, enlivened, surrender, sweet, connected, aware, grounded, centered, expansive, awake, exhilarating, alive, pulsating, flowing, and …pleasurable.

After healing and diving into what our bodies can provide, we now come to a place of delighting; a way to notice gratitude right now in your everyday life rather than what is missing, wrong, lacking, or not enough.  But the caveat is that you have to give yourself permission to own these embodied experiences and balanced pleasure as your birthright.

Examples of this may include:

-Trusting your body’s messages

- Confidence in your ability to self-soothe

- Having boundaries with yourself and others

- Skill with interrupting loops of overthinking

- Being playful, silly

- Seeing humor around you, including being able to make fun of yourself

- Trusting your intuition

- Tolerating discomfort in a healthy way

- Being less reactive

- Feeling present

- Celebrating

- Taking risks

- Going with the flow

- Being sensual and erotic

- Owning your desire rather than questioning it

- Expressing creativity

- Being vulnerable

- Loving your body

Think of these practices as a homecoming of sorts.  When you think of home, hopefully you conjure images of a cozy place.  Inhabiting the body means there is a sense of belonging that feels like home.  It means respecting and appreciating it.

What if reverence for your body was something you let yourself want and value rather than resist and question?

Although our society condemns our bodies, you have the power to disrupt that.  Instead of being critical, be curious!  Relate to your body in a way that is more adoring.  Have fun in your body, stretching, singing, dancing or moving in ways that feel good.  Being able to notice, allow, and enjoy your bodily experiences with respect, can change your entire experience.

Remember:  The body holds the key and the pleasure is all YOURS.
